Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a system of natural health care that corrects the cause of health problems without drugs or invasive surgeries.  It focuses on finding and correcting misaligned areas of the spine. These misaligned areas will cause nerve pressure that interferes with the functions of the nervous system.  Correcting these areas will help to maximize the body’s self-healing power.  Many people are seeking this form of care that helps you feel better, move better, and protects your future health.

The most significant portion of a chiropractic treatment is the spinal adjustment. Adjustments are helping to prevent the wear and tear that our joints are exposed to every day. When our joints are in proper functional position, they operate as designed with fluid motion. When joints are not in proper position, they do not work or move smoothly causing premature wear and tear. Over time, this wear and tear causes osteoarthritis.

There are many different methods to perform the spinal adjustment. Usually the procedures are hands-on and may include use of special instruments or treatment tables. At times a cracking or popping sound can be heard during the adjustment. This is simply a release of gas that had built up in the joint. While many patients enjoy hearing this sound, it is not necessary to hear it for the adjustment to be successful. The sound itself does not indicate the quality of that adjustment.

In addition to the spine, many other joints can and need to be adjusted as well. These include jaws, shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Many of these joints are damaged by injuries from sports, work, and auto accidents. Chiropractic adjustments have also been very successful in treating problems with these joints.
